I've HAD IT!

Thu, 05/17/2007 - 1:20PM by KimmiAnn 13 Comments - 2,661 Views

I'm about ready for some heads to ROLL! Since my kids have been going to school here they get suspended every other freakin' week. It's not for fighting, or acting like idiots, it's for TALKING...my son was suspended for SINGING SARCASTICALLY.....and tomorrow we go to COURT for a ticket because he and his friend were playing around in class, they called it DISORDERLY CONDUCT! NOW, after my daughter being suspended for 4 days, one week after she'd been suspended for 3 days for "not participating in class", I called and told the teacher that I didn't know why she seemed to have such a problem with my kids, but I wanted to make SURE no one had her next year since she DID seem biased...my daughter gets called into the office and told by the vice principle that if her mother wanted to be CHILDISH, maybe she should go to another school or be home schooled......OH HELL NO...I'm ready to choke that wench! Does anyone else think this is incredibly UNPROFESSIONAL?????

Yes, yes I do. Kids will be kids, and they of all people should know that.

teaching dosnt just mean about history and maths, it also means u have to be able to deal with kids, kids play up, it sounds like the teachers just dont have a clue. so yea i think its totally unprofessional to get your children suspened for such a lame reason. ive basically just left skool and we got away with murder so in some ways i think they do need to b strict but thouse reasons are pretty perthetic to suspend somone.

They should have said what they wanted to you, not your child. It's extremely unprofessional. I find children are suspended for ridiculous reasons anymore, but yours top the list. Its just a way for the school not to deal with the anything, because that would take some effort. Part of it you can blame the government for, they have cut education so much, that teachers and principals just don't have the resources. Sad situation all around. Good Luck.

I don't blame you. I have never heard of someone being suspended for not participating in class. And going to your children to talk about you is completely unacceptable. You may want to transfer your kids to another school, not because the wench told you too, but to make your lives easier.

Umm. your child should not be called in the office to discuss your actions. that in itself is gross on that note. I didnt realise you could get suspended for stupid stuff like that. I would go to the school board!!!!!

My son was fined $144 for the horseplay...while his friend was given 60 days probation. The judge stated that due to whatever the school had said about my son, his situation was DIFFERENT than the other kids.....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I'm like....Ooooook...both are first time offenders, both were playing, not fighting, but because of what the SCHOOL said, my son is being fined? YES I AM THE JUDGE AND HE IS BEING FINED...woohoo.....Son better find his butt a job....lol...

So, help me understand, was this fine in a public court? So the school had the police involved, or is this fine and system through the school itself somehow?

The school has a cop on campus, and I thought they were there for security reasons. Apparently, they give children tickets while they are at the school as well. The fine was from a CITY Cop.

I am getting my degree in Education and what the school staff did is very unprofessional-you should call the school district or atleast write a polite but firm letter to them!!! I can't beleive they would tell your daughter you were childish!!! argh!

If at all possible I would leave that school district ASAP! Something is up and once there is a bias there is always one. They will watch your kids like hawks and if they even breathe the wrong way they will be all over them and thats not right. You need to stop this now , go to the school district and if they dont listen go above them. This school sounds like a prison not a place to learn.....

And I thought our system seemed F'd Up at times.
What kind of charge is "horseplay" ?
